The Kennel Club Assured Breeder Scheme

Following our visit from a The Kennel Club Assured Breeder inspector on 30th October 2014, we are delighted to announce that we have received our UKAS accreditation as a KC Assured Breeder.

The requirements of an Assured Breeder can be found here http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/breeding/assured-breeder-scheme/scheme-requirements-and-recommendations/

A list of Assured Breeders of Large Munsterlanders can be found here. The green tick confirms that the breeder has had an inspection and the date the accreditation was awarded. http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/services/public/acbr/Default.aspx?breed=Large+Munsterlander

Quiet here – no puppies!!

Fern and Ash Puppies 7.5 weeks old 1Now the puppies have all gone to their new homes, it’s very quiet here.  They will be 12 weeks old this week, lovely to hear how they are all getting on a growing very long legs.

We do have some plans for another litter in the Spring 2015 (must be mad!), so if you are interested in being added to our waiting list, please contact us at karen@caile.me.uk

Puppy Photos

Puppies born on 24th September. Lots of puppy photos here: http://www.largemunsterlanders.co.uk/gallery/nggallery/fern-ashs-puppies-september-2014/fern-and-ashs-puppies-september-2014

Nearly time for puppies!!

Fern 58 days pregnant

Not a great photo as Fern keeps wanting to sit down, but here she is with a few days to go before her puppies are due.

Her whelping box and labour ward (utility room) is ready, camera ready, we’re ready, just got to wait now and will be relieved when all the puppies are here safe and well.

Bath Championship Show

On 23rd May 2014, I entered Mazy in the Large Munsterlander breed classes at Bath Champ Show.  I think this was the wettest and muddiest show we have been to, I even wore my wellies into the showground.  My car looked like I had been rallying it was so covered in mud, nevertheless we enjoyed our day.

Mazy was entered in Open Bitch and was placed 2nd in the class.  The judge was Aidine Howes and her critique reads:

“Caile’s Blitzan Eternal Treasure, her outline is good with well sprung ribs and depth correct with good topline, strong quarters and well set tail which she used on the move.”

Mazy at Crufts 2014

Mazy-Crufts-2104-3Mazy (Blitzan Eternal Treasure) took Reserve place in the Limit Bitch Class at Crufts 2014.

Lovely day out catching up with everyone and coming home with a Crufts certificate too.  Mazy’s favourite part of the day was to find all the freebie food from the show stands and gobble up as much as she could!!

She didn’t even mind her visit to the nice vet at Crufts to have her eye checkup – ate quite a few of their treats too…

Successful Weekend!

After a bit of a break from showing our dogs, Mazy won 2nd place at Paignton Champ Show yesterday and Fern won her class at National Gundog today (now qualified for Crufts 2014).  Very pleased with our girls.
